0. Introduction
1. key terms and interaction samples
2. application
The graphical depiction of the visualized network structure is defined by the inherent problem that its overview loses clarity as the complexity increases. If thematic associations are to be visualized, cross-reference possibilities become inevitable, since content references are rarely organized in hierarchical tree structures.
The transformation of the spatial context containing nodes attempts to adjust to the thematic viewpoint of the observer. The key terms in the middle of the system take up more space in proportion to the neighboring subject fields. If the position of the net is altered, new key terms are postioned at the center of attention.
The interaction possibilities allowed by the simulated surroundings make it possible to emphasize the network structure and context with a certain "haptic" experience. The manipulation of the network generates sequences of movements, which allows it to remain comprehensible and pertinent, even if the geometrical properties of the depicted space no longer correspond with the familiar pespective.

How to Navigate

The entire network structure can be moved by clicking in the white space and dragging.

The colored circle in the middle of the window represents the selection range. The respective content is displayed if a node is moved into this area.

Zoom

Clicking and dragging the mouse (similar to "Scaling" in a drawing program) while holding down the control key exposes further nodes on the subject.

History

The steps executed are displayed at the bottom edge of the window. The nodes already visited are rendered in gray. To go backward simply drag the text back to the center where it came from, to go forward drag it to the right.
